Will you support my ride this Blue September? Let's tackle prostate cancer together

Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I was fortunate to receive treatment and get through the cancer itself, but my prostate cancer journey certainly didn’t end there.

A decade on, I’m still dealing with some pretty significant complications from the treatment I received. Over the past year in particular, I’ve faced ongoing urinary problems, multiple procedures and surgeries, infections, catheters and the possibility of further major surgery in the future.

It’s been a reminder that prostate cancer doesn’t just affect men at the time of diagnosis, for some of us, the effects can continue many years later.

This Blue September, I’m raising money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help support Kiwi men and their families affected by this disease, and to help fund better awareness, support and outcomes for the men who will face it in the future.

If you’re able to make a donation, big or small, I’d be incredibly grateful.

And most importantly,  if you’re a bloke who’s been putting off getting checked, please do it.
