Will you support my ride this Blue September? Let's tackle prostate cancer together
Blue September – Make the Check Count
This Blue September is a little different for me.
I’m living with Stage 4 renal cancer, and despite treatment, I’ve been told I may only have 9–12 months left.
That’s a difficult sentence to write, let alone say out loud. But if sharing my story can encourage even one person to listen to their body, get something checked, or have that conversation they’ve been putting off, then perhaps something positive can come from what I’m going through.
Men are often very good at ignoring things, putting symptoms down to getting older, being too busy, or simply hoping they’ll go away. I know how easy it is to do that.
So this Blue September, please don’t ignore the signs. Don’t put off the appointment. Don’t be too proud to ask questions. Get checked.
Cancer doesn’t care how fit you are, how busy you are, or how many things you still have on your list to do.
I can’t change where my journey has taken me, but I can hopefully help someone else change theirs.
Look after yourselves. Listen to your body. Get checked.
💙 Blue September — awareness today could mean more tomorrows. 💙
Here's the game plan - ride at least 700km for the month of September and try and raise funds for Blue September.

My Impact
My fundraising will help provide 60 people affected by prostate cancer with vital support from a free, nurse-led Information Service.
As always bloody brilliant Mark. No get on that bike!
