Amini art exhibition is set to raise money for a good cause.
Blue September is a month dedicated to raising awareness of prostate cancer and encouraging men to take action around their health. I have aspired to create something to support this cause since my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and I have finally founda way to achieve this goal.
As part of my 50 before 50 challenges I had a challenge “to auction a piece of art for charity . “This one was always a little daunting, not being an artist. It means there are two elements: painting something good and then putting it out in the world in the hope it sells!”
Having attended a watercolor course at Ventana Art space in Martinborough I wondered if the painters in her class would be keen to join her and so she contacted owner Bec to help.
This connection led to Bec offering to host a special Paint it Blue workshop at Ventana on Thursday 24th September .
Attendees will enjoy 1.5 hours of guided abstract watercolour instruction with all materials supplied. The great thing is no experience necessary, just come ready to loosen up and have fun with colour.
But what has been amazing is the willingness of people to support and some of my fellow course painters being brave enough to get involved, which has been a truly heartening experience.
On the weekend of 26 & 27th September the mini exhibition will be hosted at the new hot spot in Martinborough Petal & Pour at 14d Ohio Street. Owners Jason & Katie were more than happy to support this which was amazing having only just opened the doors!
With people out and about with the Wairarapa Art Tail it will be a perfect spot to grab a coffee and treat to refuel and have the chance to see the Paint it Blue exhibition too.
