Will you help me support the Blue September cause? Let's tackle prostate cancer together
This September, I’m taking on a slightly ridiculous
challenge for a very serious reason. I've set myself a fundraising challenge to
help bring down prostate cancer and support our New Zealand brothers.
Here's the gameplan:Â
I’ll be attempting to complete 739 reps of up to 8
different exercises — including push-ups, squats, calf raises, sit-ups, etc
some of which I will be open to suggestions.
Why 739?
Because 739 men die from prostate cancer in New Zealand
every year, and around 1 in 8 men will develop prostate cancer in their
lifetime.
That means this affects our dads, brothers, partners,
friends, colleagues and mates.
So, I wanted to do something uncomfortable enough to get
people talking.
There will be sore muscles, heaps of complaining, and I’m sure
gravity will become my enemy by the end of September.
But if this challenge encourages even one man to take his
health seriously, get checked, or have a conversation he has been putting off,
then every rep will be worth it.
Your support helps provide research into treating and
diagnosing prostate cancer, along with support for people affected by a
diagnosis. Plus, you'll be helping raise awareness, so more blokes know to get
tested when they need to.
If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this
page or checking in on the men in your life still makes a difference.
739 men. 739 reasons. Every rep counts.
