This September, I’m setting myself a challenge to complete 7390 pushups during the month for the 739 males who die of prostate cancer in New Zealand every year.
On top of this, I will also be doing 1 sit-up per dollar donated. My current goal is to raise $1000 for research and to help spread awareness about prostate cancer. Any donations are extremely helpful to me and to all the men out there who need the support that the money will provide for them.
It recently dawned on me that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. In my current friend group, 3 of them are likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. After 5 years of prostate cancer, 34% of people are likely to die from it, so by raising awareness, I am hoping to push men getting tested for it, before it is too late.
Please share this around to all your friends and family to help donate to this cause and let them be more aware about the risks of prostate cancer.
Let’s tackle prostate cancer together. Donate now. Because prostate cancer is killing people in our community. It’s the most diagnosed cancer for blokes in NZ. Your support helps provide support for people affected by a diagnosis. Plus you’ll be helping raise awareness so more blokes know to get tested when they need to, along with research into treating and diagnosing prostate cancer.
