Push for Prostate Cancer

I'm doing push-ups this Blue September. Show your support, let's tackle prostate cancer together

This September I've set myself a fundraising challenge to help bring down prostate cancer and support our mates.

Here's the gameplan:

I smash out heaps of push-ups throughout the month to inspire you to dig deep towards life-saving research and support.

Let's tackle prostate cancer together. Donate now. Because prostate cancer is killing people in our community. It's the most diagnosed cancer for blokes in NZ.

Your support helps provide support for people affected by a diagnosis. Plus you'll be helping raise awareness so more blokes know to get tested when they need to, along with research into treating and diagnosing prostate cancer.

My Updates

20!

Saturday 26th Jul

I can now do 20 (from my knees) push ups! According to my training plan I can now start to add in one from my toes. And then another one etc etc.

Given there’s still all of August to go, I’m calling this on track 😁

Training day 1

Wednesday 16th Jul

Not a great start, but lots of room for improvement. 1 from my toes, 5 on my knees and 10 wall push ups. Now to repeat that twice more today.

Thanks to everyone who has already sponsored me. Now I have to do it!

What was I thinking…

Tuesday 15th Jul

I’ve been reading lots of posts recently about how important strength exercise, particularly press-ups, is for “women of a certain age”.

And I’ve got a couple of close friends who have died, are dying, and surviving prostate cancer.

Seemed like a good reason to combine both efforts & make me stick to plan.

Tackle prostate cancer together.
