Almost five years ago, my husband Steve died of prostate cancer and this was preventable. Each year in NZ around 4,000 men are diagnosed and 700 die—nearly 2 a day. Māori men face an even higher risk, with a 43% greater chance of dying. Early detection saves lives, with a 98% five-year survival rate if caught early. I’m fundraising for people affected by a diagnosis and to support research, awareness, and screening so other men and families have the chance Steve didn’t. Every donation brings hope.
My challenge is to walk 20km a week for the month of September 💙
