Push for Prostate Cancer

I'm doing push-ups this Blue September. Show your support, let's tackle prostate cancer together

This September I've set myself a fundraising challenge to help bring down prostate cancer and support our mates.

Here's the gameplan:

I smash out heaps of push-ups throughout the month to inspire you to dig deep towards life-saving research and support.

Let's tackle prostate cancer together. Donate now. Because prostate cancer is killing people in our community. It's the most diagnosed cancer for blokes in NZ.

Your support helps provide support for people affected by a diagnosis. Plus you'll be helping raise awareness so more blokes know to get tested when they need to, along with research into treating and diagnosing prostate cancer.

Day Twenty-three

Wednesday 24th Sep

121 today.  1 week to go, i think ill go for 2500 total.  Don't think averaging 200 a day is achievable for me. (1715/2000)

Day Twenty-Two

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Back up to 100 today (1594/2000)

Day Twenty-One

Tuesday 23rd Sep

80 more today -  again forgot to get the last 20 out.  Run-rate for the month is ok but doesn't look like i'll make my stretch goal without a bit more work (1574/2000)

Day Twenty

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Tried to up it today but will need to put in a bit more effort in the coming days - 84 today (1494/2000)

Day Nineteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Decided the beers were more important than the press-ups - only 20 today (1330/2000)

Day Eighteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

80 today - not sure why i didn't get the final 20 to round it out (1310/2000)

Day Seventeen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

A disorganised day - started strong with 60 then forgot the rest of the day (1230/2000)

Day Sixteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Back to 100/day :) (1170/2000)

Day Fifteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Still pretty drained - 65 today (1070/2000)

Day Fourteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Pretty sore still but am regaining strength - 40 today (1005/2000)

Day Thirteen

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Only 8 today - did the Mudder in Marton today so am pretty sore (965/2000)

Day Twelve

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Another 100 today - maybe 3000 is a better number for a stretch goal (957/2000)

Day Eleven

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Back up to 100 again - seems i have a lot more energy when the kids aren't around - odd. (857/2000)

Day Ten

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Goal achieved (757/739) - upping to goal due to peer pressure - 2000 here we come! (maybe even 3000)

Day Nine

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Same drill as yesterday - problems updating the website - 98 done (663/739)

Day Eight

Tuesday 23rd Sep

Technical issues with the website today, Struggled to find time to do push-ups today with all that was on.  Pushed out 92 (565/739)

Day Seven

Monday 8th Sep

Cranked out 100 today.  Its now becoming a bit of a habit.  I'll double the goal when I hit 739. (473/739)

Day Six

Sunday 7th Sep

Upped the sets again to 20 each.  Got 78 out.  Climbing each day.  Can definitely feel muscles in haven't felt for a while.  Now at 373/739

Day Five

Sunday 7th Sep

72 more today.  Upping each set to 15 to add an extra challenge (295/739)

Day Four

Friday 5th Sep

Stared early today - 50 press-ups at 5am thinking i wanted a lazy evening.  Actually did a further 20 so record day!  Looks like i might make the goal early in which case I'll set a higher one (223/739)

Day Three

Thursday 4th Sep

Another 50 down, but muscles are sore.  Even tried a few with a clap (thanks James).  Was surprised I got any but did! (153/739)

Day Two

Wednesday 3rd Sep

Another 50 down.  Clearly gets a bit harder the second say - but feeling like I'll get there.  Already have a stretch goal set (103/739)

Day One

Tuesday 2nd Sep

Unable to talk my kids into doing it with me... Apparently watching and critiquing my form is more up their alley.  5 sets of 10 before a normal workout.  Tried again afterward but fell flat after 3.  Not a bad start though (53/739)
