DIY for Prostate Cancer

Will you support us this Blue September? Let's tackle prostate cancer together

This September, we've set ourselves a fundraising challenge to help bring down prostate cancer and support our mates.

Here's the gameplan:

This September, we’re doing something that matters far beyond chippers. We’ve turned our industry-leading Hansa C7 BLUE in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ.

For us, it’s about more than building machines. Behind every chipper is someone’s dad, brother, partner, or mate. Too many of them are impacted by prostate cancer, and often the hardest part is starting the conversation. Sometimes, seeing something different — like a bright blue chipper — is all it takes to spark that chat and encourage someone to book a check-up.

Let's tackle prostate cancer together. Donate now. Because prostate cancer is killing people in our community. It's the most diagnosed cancer for blokes in NZ.

Your support helps provide support for people affected by a diagnosis. Plus you'll be helping raise awareness, so more blokes know to get tested when they need to, along with research into treating and diagnosing prostate cancer.

Donate now.

Prostate Cancer Journey – Barry’s Story

Monday 1st Sep

Barry is the father-in-law of one of our staff members, and his story resonates deeply with us on a personal level. I’m a survivor of prostate cancer. I’ve always lived a very active lifestyle, and in August 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 4/5 prostate cancer. Thankfully, the cancer was still contained within my prostate when it was found. Because I made it a priority to have regular annual check-ups and blood tests with my doctor, we were able to catch it early before it had a chance to spread. After discussing my options with my urologist, I decided to undergo keyhole robotic surgery to have my prostate completely removed. The surgery was successful, and after some physiotherapy and regular follow-up blood tests every six months, I’m now proud to say that I’ve been cancer-free for two years. Early detection saved my life. Regular check-ups gave me a fighting chance and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

Tackle prostate cancer together.
