There was a great turnout of the local Waiuku community today in support of Blue September with the annual shave-off of sponsored locals.
There was face painting, raffles and home made cakes to tempt the wallets of the supporters. Plus of course the traditional sausages on the bbq (although things got a little hotter than normal with the bbq going on fire - but the flames were quickly doused and the shave-off continued.
Dawn McKay also organised this Noggin Day (a week ago was the Pukekohe district), and was very pleased with support of the community to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.
