PlaceMakers have dedicated their conference to raising funds for Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Whangarei PlaceMakers are putting on a golf day to fundraise for Blue September! Buck Shelford a Blue September ambassador is going along also to support!

Join us at the Marton Memorial Hall for the 2nd ever Black Tie Ball in support of Cancer. Last year The Pink Ribbon Ball was held in support of Breast Cancer and together we raised over $5000. Lets make cancer history and support this worthy cause.

This year we are hosting the Blue Tie Ball and all proceeds will go directly to Prostate Cancer. Put on your blue ties and dancing shoes and join us with Live Band Twisted, catered food, silent and live Auctions as there are many great items donated by Marton's community!

It is a cash bar and tickets will only be sold to 18+.

Tickets are $60.00 each or purchase a table of 10 for $550.00.

NOTE: Doors will open at 7:30 and orderves will be served. Live Auction will begin at 8:30. Supper is served at 10:30.

The Blue September Launch Party once again this year will be held at the Grand Hotel Club Lounge, proudly sponsored by SKYCITY. A cocktail evening with a 'splash of blue', the night will be both a fun night celebrating a successful awareness month and also a sober reminder of the reality of prostate cancer in New Zealand.

PlaceMakers Whakatane have put on a Fishing Rods & Blokes Night to raise awareness and funds for Blue September!

Where: Local Whakatane Sport Fishing Club, Muriwai Drive

What: Local urologists and high profile dentist and toast master will be providing health information in attendance. Topics covered will include erectile dysfunction.

Comedian and presenter of Maori TV's Homai Te Paki Paki, Te Hamua Nikora, will also attend to share his personal journey of discovering he had testicular cancer and how he is battling through. The key message? To get checked early.

2nd September is Blue Friday! Buisness, organisations and groups all over the country will be getting blue: painting their face blue, wearing blue, running fundraisers and awareness events. 

You can register your Blue Friday event on this website or find out what else is happening here on this events register. 

We are holding a fundraising evening where we have male participants from the gym who have kindly donated their legs to be waxed to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. You can either just make a donation for them to be waxed or you can do it yourself and pay per strip. We will sell tickets for people to come and watch and see them squeal and provide food and beverages, we will also have a local doctor come down and speak to everyone about men's health and also a local survivor of prostate cancer would like to say a few words.

ALSCO Palmerston North will all be wearing blue on Fri 2nd of Sept in support of Blue Friday. Donations will also be collected through out the day.

PlaceMakers Pukekohe are coordinating a day of 'blue' festivities for Blue Friday in Pukekohe. Beginning with a Blue Trade breakfast in the morning at PlaceMakers, events will then move to the town centre where:

 - The local Lion's Club will man the BBQ

 - Franklin Country Music band will play

 - Cheerleaders will perform

 - A dance troupe will entertain

There's great prizes and raffle items to be won inclduing Milwaukee tools

AND the BOYS IN BLUE WILL SHAVE IT ALL OFF - five local policemen will shave their heads to raise funds for prostate cancer.

We are wearing blue in the office on Blue Friday 2nd September and people are to donate what they can towards this cause. I will be banking the money into your bank account. Please advise the bank account information and details.

Through the month of September, every Wednesday to Saturday night, Churchills Cafe and Restaurant in Te Awamutu will be running a special three course blue themed menu, along side our normal dinner menu, where ten percent of every blue dish sold will be donated towards Men's Prostate Cancer Research in New Zealand.

Everyone is to wear blue and we'll have face paint available for those who wish to go for it. I'll be getting some blue sellophane to decorate the place. Also we'll have each team bring a snack to nibble on during the day, with a blue raffle.

Blue Friday Mufti Day!

Manukau Parents Centre are holding a picnic to celebrate Father’s Day and honour Dads and Grandads on Saturday 3rd September at Ambury Farm, Mangere Bridge from 11:30am-1:30pm.

It’s an opportunity to meet other Parent Centre families, catch up with your antenatal group, kick around a ball, see the animals and have a shared lunch! We also want to help celebrate Blue September and healthy dads and grandads so will be giving out some Blue September Goodies and having a face painting contest!

We’ll provide the sausages, bread, juice and plates and cups— you bring a plate of food to share for lunch (e.g., salad, desert, sandwiches, pack of chips, biscuits—whatever you like!)

A blue cross remembrance installation will be set up at the Cameron Street Mall in Whangrei on Saturday the 3rd - 650 crosses representing the death toll from prostate cancer each year. 

Members of the public are invited to come along, write the name of a loved one - survivor or sufferer - on a cross, and get a Blue September wristband.

The Scooter Challenge is an endurance ride, from the sea to mountains in New Zealand’s heartland. From windswept Stirling Point in Bluff to the tourist Mecca and alpine resort of Queenstown. A journey of 220 kilometers to raise funds for the New Zealand Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Hard, fast and muddy – the North Island Cyclocross Championship is going to be a big one! Bring your bikes, your family and your gumboots to the culmination of the 2011 Bike Hutt Winter CX Series, and get set for a great day at Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt. PlaceMakers Cook Street ware holding a fundraising trade breakfast/BBQ, with blue themes, a shave off to raise money and will also be offering free PSA blood tests to all tradesmen and staff. 

Former league player Logan Swann will head along to assist in the head shaving and encourage the men to man up and get their blood test!

This is an all day event which runs from 10.30am till approx 8.30pm with around 150 builders and suppliers attending. The Northland Taniwha's will also be showing their support along with the Taniwha Mascot!
